Humboldt Mfg. Co. features a full array of soil testing equipment including moisture/density gauges, compaction evaluation equipment, penetrometers, tensiometers, plate extractors, moisture testing equipment, sample ejectors, augers, pH meters, limit test sets, hydrometers, sand equivalent test sets, compaction apparatus, compactors, load rings (proving rings), CBR and density apparatus, sample and microsplitters, and a complete line of sieves including covers and pans.
Designed for applications requiring multi-purpose loading systems, the HM-3000 Series MasterLoader is ideal for road construction projects, educational institutions and start-up labs. Its modular design minimizes initial costs and allows easy upgrades as desired.
Key features include microprocessor-based stepper motor speed control, four channel analog-to-digital converter with real-time data acquisition, backlit LCD display, touch-sensitive keypad, emergency stop button, RS-232 interface for computer control of load frame functions and data transfer, analog output port for use with Xyt chart recorder, nonvolatile storage of test data and instrument calibration, battery-backed, real-time clock, and more.
FlexPanel pressure distribution panels are used for triaxial and permeability testing of standard or contaminated soil samples, including soils containing hazardous or toxic waste.
The Electrical Density Gauge (EDG) is a non-nuclear replacement for nuclear gauges in determining the physical properties of compacted soils used in road beds and foundations. The EDG is a portable, battery-powered instrument capable of being used anywhere in the world without the problems associated with nuclear safety. The EDG measures and displays the wet and dry density, gravimetric moisture content and percent compaction.
Easy-to-use, the EDG can be used as a construction aid to monitor day-to-day compaction operations by providing performance and measurement results highly comparable to those achieved with traditional methods.
The Dual-Mass, Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) provides fast, economical, accurate, in-place soil shear strength in mm/blow and an indication of different strength layers. This instrument can penetrate soils to depths of 37.5" (953mm) or up to 6 ft. (1.8,) with an extension. Software included in the kit will graph depth vs. CBR and bearing values in lbs/sq. ft.
The system consists of an 8 kg stainless steel two-part hammer assembly, stainless steel upper rod, stainless anvil, new segmented lower rod with flats (wrenches replace channel locks and loctite), stainless steel lower rod, reusable hardened point, disposable cone adapter, 25 disposable cones, vertical scale, hand tools, users manual with spreadsheet software template and a heavy-duty carrying case with wheels.
The Speedy® 2000 moisture testing kit combines the 20g capcity Speedy tester with an electronic balance and a heavy-duty plastic carrying case. The case offers the highest level of protection in the most demanding on-site conditions. The case incorporates tailor made foam insets that secure the contents and protect them from shock damage.
The electronic balance is used to weigh the sample before placing it into the Speedy tester. The tester is supplied complete with electronic balance, beaker, cleaning cloth, cap, washer, scoop, steel pulverizing balls and cleaning brushes.
Hand-operated liquid limit machine features mechanical revolution counter attached to the shaft to register the number of drops in the liquid limit cup.
The unit includes H-4229 ASTM grooving tool and gauge block. Crank can be shifted for left or right-handed operation.
